AZUSA, Calif. — October 31, 2026. Small neighborhood groups and school-affiliated organizations in Azusa have access to a local funding program that may help young people participate in educational, sporting, cultural and arts activities.
The city’s Special Assistance Program offers grants of up to $500 for eligible community-based programs. The program is intended to expand youth enrichment opportunities and support participation in activities that build skills and broaden experience.
Who can apply?
According to the city’s eligibility description, applicants may include recognized clubs or organizations affiliated with institutions in Azusa Unified School District and qualifying community-based nonprofit organizations proposing educational enrichment or similar programs. The city states that funds are not distributed to private individuals.
Eligibility rules and program uses are specific. A local informal business or an individual student should not assume the program will pay their expenses directly; qualifying organizations must apply and demonstrate a program benefit.
Applications remain available throughout the year
Azusa says applications are accepted year-round, but each organization is limited to one application per fiscal year. Approval is not automatic, and an award may be less than the amount requested.
The city provides an online application and a printable submission route. Completed paper applications may be mailed or delivered to the City Manager’s Office, Neighborhood Services, 213 E. Foothill Boulevard, Azusa, CA 91702.
Residents seeking information about documentation, the remaining program budget or whether a proposed club is eligible can email neighborhoodservices@azusaca.gov or call (626) 633-4314.
