AZUSA, Calif. — October 31, 2026. Azusa residents and businesses seeking a safer way to dispose of confidential paper records can plan for a free city shredding event before the end of the year.
The City of Azusa lists its next Shred-A-Thon for Saturday, December 19, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Azusa Light & Water parking lot, 729 N. Azusa Avenue.
What can participants bring?
City guidance says the event is free for Azusa residents and businesses, subject to a limit of 10 file boxes per customer. Participants are asked to bring proof of residence or business in Azusa, such as a utility bill or driver’s license bearing an Azusa address.
How the drive-through works
The city says drivers should enter through the second driveway on Azusa Avenue, behind the utility building, and exit toward San Gabriel Avenue. Staff will direct traffic. Participants are expected to remain in their vehicles, open their trunks for unloading and wait while their empty containers are returned. The city does not dispose of the boxes or plastic bags used to transport papers.
Proof of destruction
Participants who want a confirmation of shredding may provide their name, email address and number of boxes to staff. According to the city’s event instructions, the proof-of-destruction document will be sent by email on the next business day.
Before attending, residents should check whether any materials besides paper are accepted. The posted overview does not guarantee that electronic devices, batteries, media drives or hazardous waste can be dropped off.
