AZUSA, Calif. — October 31, 2026. Azusa electricity customers reading their utility bills may encounter a line item called the Power Cost Adjustment, or PCA. The city’s current published schedule explains what the charge is and the factor applying during the second half of 2026.
Azusa Light & Water lists a PCA factor of $0.05000 per kilowatt-hour for the period July 1 through December 31, 2026. This factor is applied to metered electricity delivered to a customer in the utility’s electric service territory.
What is the PCA?
According to the utility’s schedule, the adjustment is designed to reflect changes in wholesale power-related costs, including purchases, production, transmission, capacity and other power-supply expenses, reduced by revenues from certain third-party energy sales.
The five-cent figure is not the total electricity rate. Customers may also be charged applicable base energy rates, customer charges, taxes or other line items, depending on their service classification. For an accurate bill comparison, the PCA must be considered alongside those other components.
Why the date matters
The posted factor applies only to the specified July–December period. It should not automatically be assumed to continue into January 2027. Customers should consult any newly adopted utility schedule before comparing future charges.
Households concerned about affordability can review their actual kilowatt-hour usage, verify the account’s billing classification and contact Azusa Light & Water about relevant customer assistance or conservation resources. This article does not claim that every household’s bill increased by the same amount.
